And so my new website is up, my thanks to my wonderful husband Chris, who found an easier way for me to post my art and made an even nicer website to display it on. And thanks to you guys who are willing to hang around even when I’m quiet for months on end…a habit I’m going to change.
As I was sitting here typing out my blog over and over, I kept thinking of what it was I really want to type here. Obviously my art, but that got me thinking, yes I have professional projects to show you but my life is still there in the background and the truth is I’m doing art there also.
Yes I am a crafty person, a “jack of all trades” per say. But I also hang out with wonderful artist as well (I will confess, most of them are family). I would like to show off what they can do on my blog once in a while. Of course, show my progress work, crafty things I do in my life, give what wisdom out, and so on.
So lets start out with what I did this summer. No worrys, I’m not going to put you through a slide show of boredom, but instead show the art I did of its various forms.
The first piece I did this summer was a WAY overdue Christmas present for my sister-in-law, of the San Diego LDS Temple. I saw it as a challenge and a challenge it was! There was a lot of learning from this piece. If you haven’t noticed it isn’t in the gallery yet, the scan took most of the colors out of it and so looking into getting it photographed in hopes no colors are lost this time.
Most of my art work time went into helping my husband making this website. I decided I wanted flourishes to embellish important parts of the website. We started looking for some online and found nothing to my liking. I’m an artist I have rights to be picky, and because I was being picky my husband told me to make them myself. He found me inkscape, a free program similar to Illustrator. With a little help from a youtube tutorial and a little practice I made these! See which ones I chose for the site.
There is a summer birthday in our home and I like to take on the challenge of making and decorating the cake. My son asked for a Minecraft Cake, and yes to those who don’t know, you can make a cake on the game.
Oh yeah and I made this after procrastinating it for so long to hang in one of my bathrooms.
